In order to be cleared for surgery to fix my ICP issue, I had to be infection free. To be cleared, Infectious Disease had to pull 3 CSF samples a few days apart and test the samples to see if the CSF grows the bacteria.

All three consecutive samples had to test negative for the bacteria. If any one of the three tested positive, then start the testing over. After a couple weeks, I was supposedly clear of the infection, and okayed for surgery to address my ICP issue.
