When you have an EVD or any type of device to help your body function for a while you sometimes need to have it changed so you don’t get an infection.  My EVD was only good for 2 weeks and needed to be changed.  Dr. Olaya who is on Dr. Loudon’s team did this surgery. This surgery was an easy brain surgery.  My anesthesiologist was really good, and for this one, I was out of surgery at noon, and eating a sandwich by 2:00pm.  As I mentioned in another post, if you have several surgeries, make sure you know what your anesthesiologist does and what the medication mix is because if you come out of it without nausea and can eat lunch a couple hours after surgery, you might want to use that formula again.
